Girls Get Off Co-Founder Viv Conway comes to you from the sex toy trenches in this new column Getting Off where no topic is off the table, no chat is taboo and everything is just a little unhinged. This week, Viv gets personal with a stranger (no, not in that way!). Spicy AND informative in one sexy little story? Sign us up!
Warning: it’s adults-only chat ahead!
When you ask people what their favourite way to be fingered is, the common response is radio silence, or a “huh?”, and if you’ve asked the wrong person, maybe even a slap to the face. The Girls Get Off community did none of those things.
What they actually did was send in so many responses that I thought I’d accidentally posted a nude. What can I say other than life comes at you fast?!
A couple of weeks ago, I put a call out on our IG Stories asking for the GGO queens to send in their fave finger blasting techniques. As an unofficial sex educator, it was very official research and I’ll be honest, I expected a few replies talking about the “come hither” motion or even the Spiderman, and not a whole lot more. At this point in my career, I should have known better.
There were so many O-worthy replies, I’ve been able to create an entire content series around it, and thanks to one response that has been living in my head rent-free ever since, I’ve added something new to the X-rated bucket list.
Enter Detective Coochie and Boo Thang.
BT, as she shall be called, slipped into my DMs with a story that in all my years of learning about the two finger tango, took the cake, the candles and the presents too, and since it’s too good not to share, grab your notebook queens, class is in session.
To set the scene, Detective Coochie would lay down flat on a bed while BT straddled his face. From there, Detective Coochie would lick her clit and in some kind of erotic magician move, slip his middle and index fingers in between his face, her body and insert them into her Queen V, positioning them against her G-spot – for those who aren’t sure where it is, it’s on the front wall of your vagina (the side facing your belly button), about 4-6cm in.
Once BT was comfortable, Detective Coochie would gently massage her G-spot, while still giving oral and well, let’s just say they closed the case and celebrated with Champagne. It went down in my books as a 10/10 technique, and it wasn’t the only one.
Here’s what else got a spot in the GGO Hall of Fame:
- Kneel & Feel: Person A kneels on the side of the bed and puts their hands on Person B’s shoulders, who will then finger them as they face each other. Talk about getting intimate.
- The Web-Slinger: It’s similar to the Kivin Method but is slightly different because Person A is lying normally in bed, with Person B lying across A. B uses their fingers in a Spider-Man fashion inside A while also licking or softly caressing the edges of A’s clit like it’s a wishbone and B is summoning a genie.
- Middle Management: Person A lays down on the bed with Person B chilling between A’s legs. Instead of B pressing the middle and index fingers into A’s vagina side-by-side, B actually puts their ring finger on top of their middle finger so it’s like a stacked finger situation. (This can be slightly easier to go into A’s vagina, but also because B’s fingers are stacked on top of each other, A may find it even more pleasurable when B puts pressure on that G-spot).
At first, these chats can seem like a lot to have with a complete stranger and sometimes, I do wonder if I should be taking them out for dinner first. At least I did four years ago when starting GGO. Now, they’re as normal as grabbing my morning coffee, and I love it.
GGO might sell sex toys and sexual support products, but under the orgams and “Oh THAT’S what that does” moments, we are about sexual wellness, and that means bringing light to the topics that often stay in the dark.
Obviously, anatomy, consent, and safe sex are all rated equally in the number one spot on my list of non-negotiables, but coming in as a close second are conversations about pleasure, exploration, figuring yourself out, and then sharing that knowledge with someone else.
Too many people still get their sex education from porn, and while porn can be entertaining, it’s not what we should be using to learn how to make pleasure enjoyable. Good sex, whether it’s foreplay, oral, anal or penetrative sex, is learned through exploration and having open, honest, zero-shame conversations with the people we’re doing it with.
So while I learnt 50 different ways to finger someone this month, I also found out that people are ready to have those more educational and informative chats around pleasure.
They might be translated in a fun format on our social media, but I’m okay with that because I know couples are sending those slightly rogue videos to each other like, “Should we try this?” Then they’re actually doing it, which means more people are communicating their wants, having better sex because of it and telling me I’m doing my job right.
That’s a win for me.
