Review: The New Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3 – Is She Worth the Update!?

The OG sex toy has had a facelift – but is it worth upgrading your existing SP2 for this new model? We got an expert opinion from our favourite sexpert, Adulttoymegastore’s Emma Hewitt, for her opinion and a Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3 review. Is it worth the hype? Read on!

You’ve likely heard of the Satisfyer Pro 2 (SP2). The toy that brought about such reviews as:

“OK, FML this is the best…”

“Holy hell YES!”

Multiple versions of “Holy shit!!”

And my personal favourite –

“I’m not religious, but I think I saw God….”

Because honestly, same.

While the SP2 wasn’t the first toy of its kind, it was the one that was affordable enough that many people could give it a try and fall in love with the stimulation. Let’s take a look at what it is, why it’s so damn popular and whether you should bother with the upgrade…

For those that don’t know, the SP2 is a clitoral suction sex toy.

And this is a very different toy from a regular vibrator. Rather than directly touching the clitoris, suction sex toys stimulate the clit by moving the air around it which causes a sucking and pulsing sensation. Different brands use different names based on the exact type of technology and motor they use, which is why most people simply call them suction toys to make things easy. So you might hear air pulsing, pressure waves, pleasure waves or even sonic waves and they will all feel slightly different to each other but the overall gist is the same. They pleasure the clitoris using air pressure and it feels really, really good.

This type of stimulation encourages blood flow in the area, stimulating the nerve endings and, for many people, resulting in an orgasm (or many orgasms)! For others, that’s not the case, and that’s fine too! Orgasm isn’t the be-all and end-all of pleasure. Stimulating your body and experiencing pleasure is a wonderful way to spend your time, regardless of having an orgasm.

Why was the original so popular?

The Satisfyer Pro 2 was the toy that started the hype around suction toys. And that’s in large part due to the price. At the time it was released, it was the cheapest on the market, making it accessible to a lot of people. And it didn’t take long for word to get out about how freaking good it is. This toy had everything you needed for a great suction toy experience.

It’s got 11 intensity levels starting low and soft for beginners then building up from there. There’s a removable silicone nozzle that you can take off to clean and then pop back on for storage. And it’s USB rechargeable, waterproof and super easy to use. It’s all the good things we like in a sex toy! Oh, and did I mention it’s been the top-selling toy at ATMS for the last 4 years in a row? What about the fact that it’s been rated 4.8 out of 5 stars with more than 2300 reviews on ATMS? I mean, the toy delivers!

And now, it’s had an upgrade! Here’s how the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3 differs from the original.

The first thing you will notice is the material has changed. While the original is made from hard plastic, the new Pro 2 Gen 3 is coated in a smooth, silky silicone which feels lovely to hold on to. Plus it provides more grip if your fingers get a little lubey. Now this won’t be that big a deal to everyone, but it makes the toy feel a lot more luxurious and as someone who tries a lot of sex toys, it’s a very noticeable difference to me.

The other obvious difference is the colour. The original is rose gold but the Gen 3 is available in three different colours, a deep wine red, lilac and a dark grey that is almost black and makes my bogan heart happy.

The other big difference between this toy and its predecessor is that the Pro 2 Generation 3 has vibration too. You can use this separately or at the same time as the air pulsing. There are five vibration speeds and seven patterns to play with. To be honest, it’s a pretty subtle vibration so I wouldn’t bother using it by itself, but alongside the other functions, it can make it feel even more intense.

Ok, here’s the big one. You’ll notice that the new version has two caps. One is the standard silicone cap with a hole in the middle for the air to flow into. This cap is for the classic suction technology that made the SP2 so famous.

The second cap is where the new magic happens, according to Satisfyer. This one remains covered the whole way across with a thin piece of silicone, and this cap is what they describe as ‘liquid air technology’. That thin piece of silicone will move up and down against your clitoris as the air pulses beneath it.

The idea is that it “replicates the sensual surge of pulsing water”. It’s the first toy of its kind and a pretty cool innovation. While I’m not sure that it feels like water surging against my clitoris, it’s a fun way to mix it up. I describe it more as a light bubbling or tapping. I find that I need to turn it up to the highest levels to get the most out of it with this cap but I do enjoy it when it’s seriously bubbling!

While Satisfyer says that the new liquid air cap is what sets the two toys apart, in my opinion, it’s the app that is the real star of the show. Yup, the Gen 3 can work with the Satisfyer Connect App. But please note that there are two versions of the toy. One that is app compatible, and one that’s not. So if you like the sound of it, ensure you get the right version!

The app offers a lot of ways to play. You can use it to control the toy remotely either from in the same room or anywhere else in the world (hey long-distance lovers), you can create patterns using your finger on the screen and save them as vibration programs to use later, and you can match the vibration to your favourite songs or even use the rabbit boost mode which sends the toy to the highest intensity level without needing to roll through the different modes.

And my favourite feature of the app is that it shows you how much battery is left in the toy. So if you have ever had a toy DIE ON YOU MID SESSION, you will understand just how important this feature is. We give thanks and praises to Satisfyer for this one.

Here’s the part of the article I know you’ve been hanging out for…Is the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3 worth it?

It all depends on what you are after from a toy. In my opinion, the real drawcard of the Gen 3 is the app compatibility. It offers lots of fun ways to play and lets you know the battery life of the toy, which is an obvious game-changer. Yes, the new cap does feel different and is a fun way to mix things up but I get the feeling that it’s going to end up in a drawer somewhere and forgotten about fairly quickly. I’m a suction sex toy girl so that’s the type of stimulation I turn to the most.

In saying that, I definitely prefer the updated version! The matte silicone outer feels like a significantly higher-quality toy than the original plastic version and this makes it much more appealing.

If you want more…

The Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3 isn’t the only toy of its type and to some people, myself included, it’s more of a gateway toy to bigger and stronger suction sex toys. What can I say, I’m a power queen!

For those wanting something a little more than the Satisfyer can provide, here are a few toys I recommend:

Womanizer Liberty

There is just something about the Womanizer form of air pulsation that does it for me. It’s strong, it’s intense and it feels like nothing else I’ve experienced. And this one is such a beautiful toy. There are 6 intensity levels with a wide range of strengths starting from really low and fluttery up to really strong suction. Plus this one has a cap that you can pop on when it’s not in use for discreet storage. So pretty!

Share Satisfaction Kama

If you prefer a toy that offers the best of both worlds, clitoral stimulation and vaginal stimulation, a dual-stimulation suction toy like Kama might be more your style. Along with clitoral suction, Kama features an internal vibrating stimulator with a ribbed texture and a bulbous tip designed for stimulating the G-spot. It’s rated 4.7 out of 5 stars by customers on Adulttoymegastore (and highly rated by the Capsule I’ll Have What She’s Having panel review team!) so there’s no denying this is an amazing toy.

Lelo Sona 2

I mean, talk about a beautiful toy! Lelo always makes beautiful toys and Sona 2 is no exception. The nozzle of this toy is deep and this means that it can really surround the clitoris for a full massage that stimulates deep into the internal clitoris too. Lelo uses a technology called Sensonic Technology which is sonic waves of air that move around the clitoris. And it is a famously strong toy, so if you are looking for a step up in intensity, this is a great option. There are 12 pleasure settings and it’s waterproof too for fun in the bath or shower.
