We talk about self-care all the time at Capsule – mostly because it’s still something women up and down the country are chronically lacking. We’re so bloody good at putting everyone else in our lives first and yes sure, that’s fantastic – but as the weather gets colder and the world gets a little greyer, it’s time to make sure you’re prioritising yourself (and your cosy vibes) this winter.
So, powered by our pals at The Warehouse, ofc, here’s 10 little things you can pick up at the big red shed to help you fully embrace some much-needed (and can we just say, much -deserved) self-care time that are light on the wallet, but heavy on the impact!
Capsule x The Warehouse

The range comes in playful packaging with fun colours and delicious scents that are sure to brighten up your bathroom and your self-care routine. Crafted locally in Aotearoa and made without harmful chemicals, the range is made with Kiwis in mind and packed full of natural NZ ingredients known for their healing properties such as kawakawa and mānuka honey. Exclusive to The Warehouse, all Good One product costs between $6-$8, ensuring Kiwi families can purchase NZ-made products made from native ingredients at affordable prices.

2. A COSY BLANKET
How can you be cosy without a cosy blanket!? ‘Tis impossible and a good, chic and comfy throw will always be the perfect foundation for an afternoon of self-care. Look, we don’t want to toot our own horns too much but we are now *experts* at selecting the perfect cosy blanket from The Warehouse – try one of these three options:
Living & Co Plush Check Sherpa Reverse Throw Ochre Yellow 127cm x 152cm, $20 (we have this one ourselves and it’s now pride of place in the lounge – it’s impossibly soft, washes well and looks amazing for a pop of colour – it’s a very easy (and cost-effective) way to change the entire vibe of a room, AND it’s reversible!).

Living & Co Sheba Tufted Throw Natural 127cm x 152cm, $40 great for the neutral-vibed home, the real hero of this gorgeous throw is its texture that adds interest, while staying elegant.

Living & Co Ultra Soft Plush Blanket Olivine Queen, $18 we’re absolute suckers for green – THIS shade of green in particular. It’s the perfect combination of warmth and cosiness (or sexy and cute if you, like me, are now thinking about Crazy, Stupid, Love after that line) and we use ours for layering with comforters and duvets for that plush hotel-esque moment. And $18?! Get off the grass.

3. A CUTE BUT COMFY LINGERIE SET
There is nothing like a matching lingerie set to make you feel like you have your s*** together and honestly when we’re in self-care mode, thinking that you have said s*** together really does lend itself to a more relaxing experience. Lingerie has that power – but while you want to look and feel incredible in it, it’s GOT to be comfortable because if the pandemic taught us anything it’s that boobs don’t like to be trapped in cages – they want to be supported in lovely balconies. Try these WIRE-FREE (key) sets (as I’ve compiled this list i have to be completely honest and say I was blown away by the selection and now these two sets are now in my personal cart).

Green set: H&H Women’s Florence Wirefree Soft Cup Bra ($18 or two for $29); H&H Women’s Florence Bikini Briefs ($9 or two for $14). Black set: H&H Women’s Poppy Wirefree Bralette ($16 or two for $25); H&H Women’s Poppy Lace Boyleg Briefs ($9 or two for $14).
4. A SUPER-SOFT LOUNGE SET
I saw a preview of this PJ set at a showcase event for media and when I laid eyes on it I squealed because I legit couldn’t figure out how it was so soft and so affordable. Run, don’t walk – and thank me later. It’s the H&H Women’s Soft Touch Pyjama Top ($20) and H&H Women’s Soft Touch Wide Leg Pyjama Pants ($20)

5. A COSY CANDLE (DUH)
Let’s be honest, it’s not a Capsule product recommendation list if there isn’t a scented candle on it (we know we have a problem and we don’t care, at last count between myself and Emma we have about 50 candles between us) so if you can trust us on anything, it’s this. Candles help you set your scene create your vibe and let you be a little intentional about your self-care – and of course, they smell bloody good. Here are our picks from the range at The Warehouse:
Living & Co Homestay Wild Grapefruit Candle Brown Mid, $14 – fresh, crisp and fruity, it smells like summer (actually it reminds me of an Aperol Spritz) with a little blood orange in their too. The scent through is also very impressive in this range, your whole house will be fragranced which we love!

Living & Co Homestay Vanilla Candle White 13oz, $16 – this is Emma’s favourite from the range and trust me, she knows her vanilla candles (niche, i know, but we all have our talents). She says it burns perfectly, has a great scent and lasts ages.

Living & Co Zen Scented Candle Citrus & Pomegranate Purple Mid 250g, $15 – it’s cute, it has ‘lil gems in it, it smells great – what’s not to like! Perfect for your fairy smut self-care sessions (wink).

6. FLUFFY SLIPPERS
It really is the time of the year where you re-discover your love of a good slipper (and actually have to physically re-discover them because I always lose track of where the hell they are in summer!). I’m partial to a good slip on myself and I just don’t think you can go past these cuties – the H&H Women’s Fluffy Crossover Slide Slippers, $12 – that come in cream, grey and purple.

7. THE PERFECT TEAPOT AND MUG (OR COCKTAIL COUPE BECAUSE WE SUPPORT ALL CHOICES)
Self-care looks a little different to everyone, and whether that’s curling up with a book, a face mask and some choccy and a cuppa, or all of the above with a cheeky ‘lil beverage included, you live your best life, boo. Here are our picks for the perfect bevvie vessels, whatever your mood:
Living & Co Coupe Cocktail Glass 4 Pack 300ml Clear 180ml, $29 – so chic, so classic and so perfect for all manner of cocktails and mocktails. I have these and I personally love a coconut chilli marg out of them, but if I’m not drinking then I’ll pop in an iced fruit tea for the same vibe on the rocks with a nice little garnish.

Living & Co Glass Teapot 1L, $16 and Living & Co Hot Chocolate Mug Green, $7– even though these are very modern takes on tea, there’s just something about a teapot that makes me think of Bridgerton – and let’s be honest, one cup of tea is never enough. Why get up to make a new one?

8. MCo BEAUTY SKINCARE
People are absolutely FROTHING MCo for it’s zeitgeist-y but affordable range of makeup and skincare and we’re also huge fans – a self-care moment most definitely requires a bit of skincare! Try a few of the below:
MCoBeauty Age Resist Active Gold Hydrogel Night Repair Eye Masks 5 Pairs, $22

MCoBeauty Australian Pink Clay Mask 75g, $44

9. THE PERFECT BOOK
You know from our monthly Capsule Book Club, brought to you by The Warehouse, that the big red shed is THE place to go for books – a huge chunk of their fiction is priced at $26 and under (for all of our previous picks, click here!) or you can try out your own selections – like this Cathy Kelly number, Sisterhood ($26).

10. THE MOST LUXURIOUS GIFT TO YOURSELF OF ALL: A FOOT SPA
AM I just including this slightly passively-aggressively in the hope that my partner will see it and finally buy me a foot spa? Well no, not JUST that – it’s genuinely a great way to unwind and treat your footsies to a bit of a break, plus it warms you up and it’s just a nice way to spend an afternoon at home. Living & Co Luxury Foot Spa Purple/White, $75
