Sort Your Life Out: 5 Little Things You Can Do Everyday to Keep Your House In Order

Fertility Associates Post Top

Let's be friends!

The books we're reading, the vibrators we're using, the rants we're having and more in our weekly EDM.

We’d all love to be that person – you know, the one whose house is always somehow, inexplicably, tidy and organised and a hair never seems to be out of place (honestly we’re not even sure those people actually exist). BUT, if you’re looking for a few tips to make keeping your house running a little smoother, read on for five great ideas from Sort Your Life Out NZ’s expert organiser Natalie Jane.

“Being organised has endless benefits – your days run smoother and you feel more control. So, here are my five top picks of things you can do every day to help you keep your house in order…

Make your bed
It’s the very first task you can do in the day – by doing this, you are showing yourself love and self-respect and no matter how hard a day you might have had, you will come home to a bed that you made, yay!

Create routines
Routines will help ensure that all the tasks you want to get done get done. Create morning, after school and evening routines and even a “Tidy up” daily routine, in order to feel in control and take the stress out of your day.

Put it away
“A place for everything and everything in its place.” Once you have used an item, put it back. If you don’t have a place for it, create one. Adopt the “One touch rule” and watch the difference it will make to your home.

Keep on top of dishes
As soon as any meal is over, get stuck into washing the dishes or putting them in the dishwasher and get the family on board to help. I love making a meal knowing the dishwasher is empty, so that once everyone has eaten, dirty dishes can go straight in.

Keep on top of laundry
Many of us do not enjoy doing laundry. If this is you, doing small loads every day stops it from building up and makes the piles less overwhelming. Your days off will more enjoyable as you won’t have a mountain of washing to deal with from the week.
