Fancy Something a Little Bit Special for Your Next Dining Adventure? May We Humbly Recommend…

From Tuesday 19 April, culinary connoisseurs will have three weeks to experience a truly unique event, ‘A Taste of Gold’, at one of six progressive dining events.

Hosted by American Express, food lovers will move between four iconic Auckland restaurants enjoying a different course at each stop.

The events, hosted on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings until May 6, offer a four-course tasting experience like no other from canapes through to dessert at a selection of American Express Local Dining Collection restaurants, walking between each restaurant in the Britomart and Commercial Bay precincts. And trust us, having trialed the experience ourselves earlier this week, the fish and chips at Lodge Bar, and the Ostrich carpaccio (ok REALLY trust us on that one) are dishes to remember!

A celebration of Aotearoa’s finest ingredients, the evening will see diners begin the evening at Lodge Bar & Dining at Commercial Bay with bubbles on arrival and a starter sure to fire up the appetite. From there, you’ll split into three groups to enjoy two more courses followed by dessert across Botswana Butchery, Amano, and Café Hanoi. The best part? You can pick which order of delicious destinations you’d like to head to after your first stop when you book your tickets.

The events mark the launch of the American Express Gold Rewards Card, one of the only dining-focused credit cards in New Zealand and one of only two metal credit cards, available in a choice of classic gold or rose gold. The four restaurants are only a few of the impressive range of restaurants in the Local Dining Collection, where Gold Rewards Card Members can spend one of their two $100 dining credits each year.

After a challenging end to 2021 for Auckland’s hospitality industry, these gourmet events offer gastronomes the opportunity to support local restaurants while simultaneously experiencing some of the finest food the city has to offer.

Hosted every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from Tuesday, 19 April through to Wednesday, 6 May, tickets cost $100 per person, including four courses and bubbles on arrival, and are available for purchase here.

And for two lucky Capsule readers, we have 2x tickets to giveaway valued at $200 to attend the Wednesday, 4 May evening on Dining Option 1. Keep an eye out on our Instagram page for how to enter!
