The Best Person For You to Travel With, Based on Your Star Sign

Toyota Post Page Top

If you’re planning a trip with friends (or even a potential love?!), you may have checked everything off the list, except for this one… checking if you have compatible star signs!! Is this really a thing? This astrologist certainly thinks so, and has some recommendations about who you should be booking a trip with (and who you shouldn’t!) to ensure you have the best time.

Have you ever gone on a trip with your best friend, only to realise that your travel styles are incredibly incompatible, and you spend the whole trip trying not to fight?

Or have you ever met a random person on holiday and totally meshed with them immediately?

Turns out, our star signs have a lot to do with our travel behaviours. Understanding this could be the difference between having an epic holiday and a disastrous one.

We checked in with an astrology expert to find out exactly which star signs should travel together – and which should stay apart at all costs.

According to Skyscanner’s astrology partner, Dadhich Toth, we can first look to the elements of our signs to find compatibility.

“Fire (Sagittarius, Aries and Leo) and Air (Aquarius, Libra and Gemini) create an exciting and lively duo on the road,” he explains.

“Fire’s spontaneity and passion meet Air’s intellect and adaptability to create a unique travel experience,” he says.

“Fire brings out Air’s wonder, and Air tempers Fire with planned adventures. They thrive together in exciting locales, busy cities or active getaways. Each trip is an unforgettable experience.”

Meanwhile, Water signs (Pisces, Scorpio and Cancer) and Earth signs (Capricorn, Virgo and Taurus) “combine to create a grounded and serene travel experience. Earth provides a feeling of safety, which ensures a pleasant journey”.

“Water brings emotional connection and relaxation to the trip. Their shared passion for intimacy and tranquillity creates relaxing, rejuvenating journeys, whether it is a romantic retreat or a natural one.”

So, we hear you asking – what does this mean for me?

“The thrill of an adventure that you get with someone who matches your vibe can make for the perfect travelling experience. However, finding the ‘ideal travel match’ can be challenging,” says Skyscanner Travel Expert, Jarrod Kris.

That’s why Skyscanner has determined a list of the ideal travel partners, based on star sign.

Pisces & Capricorn

Pisces are one of the signs most likely to encounter roadblocks during their travels, however will leave with great memories and lessons as a result. Conversely, Capricorns are more inclined to stretch their horizons when on holiday and get out of their comfort zones.

The Water and Earth duo forms a unique and complementary partnership when it comes to travel.

Aries & Gemini

Lovers of a good ‘tried and tested’ recommendation, Aries will likely use social media and word of mouth when it comes to booking their travel destinations and activities.

Geminis are one of the four cardinal signs and are some of the most open and welcoming to change.

The Fire and Air pair make for the ideal travel duo, as a Gemini is an outgoing sign that is perfectly paired with Aries’ adventurous spirit.

Taurus & Virgo

As one of the four fixed signs, Taureans are the least likely to ‘go with the flow’ so travelling with another like-minded Earth sign, or even solo, is best suited to a Taurus.

Another Earth sign, Virgos are known for being organised and meticulous, and need a well-thought-out itinerary – making them a great travelling pair.

“With a need to be informed and prepared, Taurus and Virgos can benefit from setting up price alerts to ensure they’re the first to know as prices drop,” Kris recommends.

Cancer & Scorpio

Lovers of all things summer travel, both these Water signs love a warm and sunny holiday, and you can often find Scorpios booking a solo getaway to a tropical destination.

While the pair thrive in the sun, as fellow Water signs, they also feel love and feel enriched by new cultural experiences. Cancer brings the partnership emotional depth and intuition while Scorpio brings the passion for spirituality and deeper thinking.

Leo & Libra

Leos love making new friends and being sociable, making them well-equipped for travelling with a partner who loves to expand their horizons. Libras are the most likely to invest their money in a bit of luxury, whether it’s premium plane seating, a room upgrade or some shopping. This Fire and Air pair are the perfect luxury explorers!

Aquarius & Sagittarius

Aquarians are adventurous; you might even find them booking the occasional spontaneous getaway.

Paired with Sagittarius, who can be some of the easiest-going travellers and the biggest believers in astrology, the Air and Fire pair are the perfect travel companions to share an action-packed and spontaneous adventure together.

Pisces & Sagittarius

Pisces and Sagittarius are happy to take things as they come and find their groove along the way.

“They can benefit from using Skyscanner’s ‘whole month’ search tool which allows them to see cheap flights immediately and browse the dates for the right deal. While flying on less popular days of the week, you can find great savings,” says Kris.

Capricorn & Scorpio

Capricorns and Scorpios aren’t afraid of doing things differently in the name of a new and exciting experience.

Kris says: “They can opt to take a red-eye flight as these flights tend to be ‘less in demand’ and therefore offer a cheaper and less crowded flight. That means they’re more likely to score a deal and be able to stretch out comfortably across empty seats.”
