What To Wear To The Eras Tour: Inspiration For Each Era, Each Budget & Each Body

Spinning like a girl in a brand-new dress, you’ve got your Taylor Swift tickets (jealous, us?) and you have just one big question left: what to wear to the Eras Tour? Here are some of our favourite looks, inspired by the different Taylor Swift Eras.

Taylor Swift Self-Titled

Sartorial vibe: big hair, saying ‘y’all’, fake tan, teenage emotions, country music, faded blue jeans, carrying a guitar everywhere but not in an annoying way. “When you think happiness, I hope you think “that little black dress.’”

Clockwise L to R: Pink dress, BHLDN; Denim dress, The Iconic; Pink top, Ruby; Floaty singlet, Glassons; White tiered skirt, Glassons.

Fearless

Sartorial vibe: Summer dresses, cowboy boots, curls, lots of bracelets, homemade t-shirts, ‘With you I’d dance, in a storm in my best dress, fearless’, ‘she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts’

Clockwise L to R: Floral dress, Glassons; White dress, Cotton On; Wrap Dress, The Iconic.

Speak Now

Sartorial Vibe: GOWNS, fairytale vibes, purple, sequins, hormones, ‘The girl in the dress cried the whole way home/wrote you a song.’

Clockwise L to R: Silver skirt, Never Fully Dressed; Lilac dress, The Iconic; Purple dress, Free People; Gold top, Free People.

Red

Sartorial Vibe: Long sequinned coats, top hats (inexplicably), red lipstick, red in general, autumn leaves, scarves, the black catsuit from her best performance ever, sequinned shorts, plaid shirts days (and nights).

Clockwise L to R: Gingham dress, Ruby; Red dress, Max; Sequin bow, Free People.

1989

Sartorial vibe: blue, beaches, seagulls, 80s disco, synth keyboards, being a nightmare (dressed like a daydream). ‘Say you’ll remember me, standing in a white dress, staring at the sunset, babe,’ ‘I’ve got that good girl faith, in a tight little skirt’

Clockwise L to R: Sequin dress, Free People; Floral dress, Ruby; White dress, The Iconic; Blue dress, Free People; Patterned dress, Max.

Reputation

Sartorial vibe: Slinky, sexy, grown-up glitter, morning after the big party, snakessss, 1990’s grunge but Taylor, velvet, ‘I only bought this dress so you could take it off’.

Clockwise L to R: Vegan Leather skirt, Never Fully Dressed; Lace dress, Free People; Sequin t-shirt, Free People; Laced top, Max.

Lover

Sartorial vibe: Rainbows, pastels, butterflies, pink, insane back tattoos, sequins (recurring), sunsets, Miss Americana, Christmas lights all year round, #girlboss blazers, astrology.

Clockwise L to R: Rainbow floral dress, Never Fully Dressed; Sunset dress, Anthropologie; Flower dress, Free People; Linen suit, Glassons; Floral dress, The Iconic.

Folklore

Sartorial vibe: Vintage nightgowns, running through meadows, cardigans (obviously), rummaging through the dress-up box as a child, believing trees are sentient, anything Stevie Nicks, ‘Please, picture me, in the trees.’

Clockwise L to R: Floral print dress, Free People; Ruffle kaftan, Free People; White dress, Seed Clothing; Lace top, Free People; Cardigan, Max.

Evermore

Midnights

Sartorial vibe: The third hour of a great party but also the comedown the morning after, 1970s, oversized layers, sequins (always?), a great smoky eye, bodysuits, a fun lil garter, “Best believe I’m still bejewelled, when I enter a room, I can still make the whole place shimmer.”

Clockwise L to R: Long-sleeved sequin top, Free People; Long sequin dress, Never Fully Dressed; Sequin singlet, Glassons; Gold sequin top, Free People; Red sequin dress, Free People.
