Natural Beauty Products that Actually WORK. Busting the Myths to Ensure You Glow, Naturally!

In partnership with Glow Lab

There are plenty of beauty myths out there when it comes to natural products, which make us wonder if they’re actually going to work, feel good and come at a reasonable price! Alice takes a look at these myths and gives the newest products from Glow Lab a whirl!

When I made the switch to all-natural beauty products about five or so years ago, I had a few creeping fears. Like, was everything going to be super expensive from here on? Would I be able to find anything natural that didn’t smell like patchouli oil? Was anything going to smell good? Would I ever find a natural shampoo that lathers up with bubbles like the ones I was used to? Would ANYTHING ACTUALLY WORK?!?!

Ahem.

It’s me, Alice! I’m always keen to give a new natural product a whirl!

With our skin being our largest organ, it’s no wonder that so many of us are questioning what we’re slathering all over it. Because we apply beauty products topically, all those ingredients quickly find their way to our bloodstream where they can cause more harm than good. Synthetic ingredients – especially nasties like SLS, SLES, petrochemicals and sulphates – can wreak havoc with our health and it only takes the simple action of turning a bottle over and being met with an ingredients list of a hundred-odd unrecognizable chemicals in very small font to get a bit of a wake-up call.

But if, like me, you don’t exactly find yourself doing cartwheels with excitement over the idea of going natural – largely thanks to a bunch of beauty myths out there – I just happen to have some good news for you.

Yip, maybe a while back natural products didn’t give you a heck of a lot of bang for your buck (and did all smell like a gypsy fair), things have certainly changed and now some of the best performing products just also happen to be au natural! A lot of them smell delicious, are reasonably priced AND perform just as well – if not better – than those with the long lists of worrisome ingredients.

One of the latest on the scene is a new formulation by Glow Lab, who recently  relaunched their Hydrating Shampoo and Hydrating Conditioner. Free of silicone, sulphates, SLS, parabens, phthalates, cocamide DEA and mineral oil, their formulas are also cruelty free. Instead, they’re packed with naturally nourishing Shea Butter, Betaine, FK Restore™ Functional Keratin®, Vitamin E, Argan and Jojoba Oil to deeply hydrate, protect the scalp and reduce breakage and frizziness.

Haircare that really works! The Glow Lab Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

I tried these myself for two weeks and can confirm that A), they smell delicious, with that delicious shea butter scent that you can still get a sniff of days later. B), IT ACTUALLY WORKS. I was sceptical of the stat on the label that says it can improve the condition of hair by up to 43% after just one treatment, but I truly did see an improvement in my hair after the very first wash – and it only got better from there. C), it lathers up like a regular shampoo, so you don’t miss out on anything in the actual experience of it all. D) You can pick up this salon-quality shampoo and conditioner at the supermarket for a reasonable price. Easy peasy!

What I particularly like about this Hydrating formula was how nourishing it is without weighing down my hair. I have quite fine hair that’s prone to getting dry – but it soaked up all the good stuff and came out looking smoother and shinier, and still had volume and bounce to it.

If you’re looking for a new shampoo and conditioner, and are keen to give something natural a go, I couldn’t recommend Glow Lab’s new range more.
