NZ’s Top Solo Sex Toys to Masturbate With Revealed – AND the Town That’s Bought the Most (It’s NOT Where You Think)

May is International Masturbation Month and our pals Adulttoymegastore have pulled data on the country’s favourite solo sex toys to masturbate with so far in 2022, as well as the towns and cities that have purchased the most – and we see you, Mt Maunganui!

From the more than 20,000 products stocked, THESE were the ones Kiwis have bought the most in the quest for solo pleasure (and if any of these tickle your pickle, don’t forget to use our code CAPSULE10 at adulttoymegastore.co.nz)

And check out New Zealand’s top sex toys of all time (for solo AND couple play) here!

NZ Towns/Cities that have purchased the most masturbation toys per capita for 2022

Adulttoymegastore also pulled data on which Kiwi towns/cities have bought the most masturbation toys per capita so far for 2022 (God, don’t we love a per capita measurement!) The quantity of masturbation toys sold by town/city was broken down by the population of each as per census information.

Mount Maunganui residents love to masturbate with sex toys! The city took out the number one spot for the most sex toys designed for masturbation sold per head since 2022 began. Morrinsville in the Waikato came in second place, and Feilding in the Manawatū came third.

Commenting on the results, Adulttoymegastore’s sex educator Emma Hewitt said:

“I’d like to congratulate Mount Maunganui on their impressive achievement of buying the most sex toys designed for solo use per capita this year, and to the other places that made it onto the list. For the rest of New Zealand, remember there’s no shame in levelling up your masturbation game by giving yourself a helping hand,” she said.

“Masturbation is healthy, normal, feels great, and it’s about time we dropped the shame and stigma around it. Sex toys are a great way to explore our bodies and what feels good, and they do things our bodies can’t, like vibrate and pulsate. They’re also incredibly useful for people who struggle to reach orgasm, have low libido, experience erectile dysfunction, are recovering from sexual trauma, or have a disability that makes self-pleasure difficult.”

Masturbation Month celebrates self-pleasure and was started in honour of Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders who was fired by President Bill Clinton in 1994 for suggesting masturbation be part of the sex education curriculum for students.
